While filming we have changed a few of the angles of the
shots and who acts in what shots, as it made more sense and showed the actions
that occurred in the scenes better, one particular shot that we change the
angle of was shot 9 as it was originally a long shot, but while filming we
realised that it was hard to make out the dialogue in the scene and the actions
made, we believe these improvements will help to make our trailer more
effective.

Second filming shoot
Friday 15th February- We completed another 6 scenes. We decided to get all the shots of Amy and Tom filmed as we didn't know when we would be able to film them again, this was a successful shoot as we film from 2pm till 6pm and filmed all the scenes that we set out to complete.
Filming
Monday 11th February- We filmed the first 6 opening shots with the characters Jack, Lauren and Emily. We began filming at 3pm and finished at 6:30pm, these shots helped us to become familiar with the camera and the different angles that could be used to create effect.

New Film Trailer Plot.
·
First
shot is of the mum, Jack and Emily sat around the dinner table sat around
playing a game and joking around (seems to be an average single parent family)
·
Close
up of Jacks saying “yes, I won a hotel!
·
Over
the shoulder of the mums face as she says “Oh that reminds I’m going on a spa
weekend next week, so you’ll have to stay and look after Emily.” They respond
with “Ok”
·
Cut
to a close-up shot of Emily’s eye looking out of the shadows, she is cowering
under the stairs, her eye suggests that she is frightened.
·
Jump
cuts to a shot of Jacks arm reaching round the stairs, Emily cowers further in.
·
He
then jumps out saying “Found you!”
·
She
leaps into his arms and clings onto him in a strange way, she sharply exhales
to show that she is relieved.
·
Fades
into the living room where Emily is stroking/holding Jacks jumper (leaning
against each other in a comforting and protective way)
·
His
girlfriend enters the living room and as Jack gets up to give her a hug, Emily
grabs hold of his Jumper.
·
When
he says “Let go Emily” she reluctantly releases before looking away sad.
·
Cuts
to a shot of Jack stood by the door, you can hear a drunken man outside loudly,
before Jack says “Not again Dad!”
·
Cuts
to a shot of Emily stood in the doorway saying “Jack who’s there?”
·
The
Dad recognises her voice and shots out Emily with anger laced in his tone.
·
Her
face changes to frightened as Jack says “Go” she runs and hides in her usual
spot under the stairs.
·
You
hear shouting from the drunken dad before he screams, “I’ll be back for you
two!” and smashes a bottle.
·
Emily
cries under the stairs.
·
Cuts
to when the mum leaves to go on the spa weekend.
·
Jack
invites his friends around.
·
Emily
suggests playing hide and seek.
·
As
Emily is counting it cuts to a flash back where she is cowering and pleading
for her dad to stop
·
Jack
heroically steps in and says “Stop dad!”
·
As
she is counting down there are a variety of different shots.
·
Flash
shots of:
§ Emily looking around.
§ Mirror/shadows shown
§ Door slamming behind Emily, Jack is
frantically trying to get in.
§ Running scene of Amy running up the
stairs.
§ Lauren and Jack stood in the kitchen
behind the table as the lights flicker off.
§ Lauren finds Amy strangled in a room.
§ Two shot of Jack and Tom hiding under
the table, Jack says to “shh” as they hear a loud bang.
§ Dragging shot of Tom (extreme
close-up of his hands)
·
Final
shot is a medium close up of Emily crying as she’s rubbing her neck, she has
the same strangled marks as Amy had (unclear whether it is present time or a
flashback.)

Examples of Billing Blocks.
Looking at all four of these
billing blocks it has given me a good idea of what I would like mine to look
like, I am going to incorporate parts of each billing block and merge them into
my own. I will mix both colours white and red for my text on a black background;
I like the logos and companies names in no.2 and would that idea for my own.
However I think I will use no.1 as a base for my structure as it is the
clearest of them all and is not over complicated using specific parts of these
will help to produce a realistic and conventional billing block for my specific
genre.
Final notes for improvement about my film poster.
·
Create a mise-en-scene, possibly where she goes
to hide for protection.
·
Complete
Billing Block.
·
Change the tag-line, gives away too much of the
plot: - focus more on the hide and seek element of the film.
·
Concentrate
more on the website, is it to do with the production company or will it just solely
be on the film. 1) www.DeprivedFilm.co.uk
2) www.SkirridCreations/Deprived.com
·
She
looks to tidy, make her hair a bit ruffled and nails dirty, to show her looking
more distressed.
·
Take
the photo slightly of angle.
Textual analysis of completed film poster.
1)
The title ‘Deprived’ suggests that someone is
being deprived of something either love or attention.
2)
The main image is of a young girl hiding her
face with her hands; she is peaking through the one hand and in the eye you are
able to make out a reflection of someone or something and the fact that her eye
is widened suggests that she is scared of the person in her reflection. It
leaves the mystery of who the person is and what they’ve done to make her so
terrified.
3)
The poster suggests that the genre of this film
is a horror/psychological thriller; this is shown by the use of colour scheme
(black, red and white.) It sets up the narrative of hiding as some short of
protective shelter from someone or that she is running away from the person in
the reflection, the girl also looks to be the main character and victim.
4)
There are no film stars names this suggests that
they are not well known, however this could work to the film maker’s advantage
as it becomes less obvious who the survivors and victims will be therefore
creating more suspense for the audience.
5)
The main character is shown in a close-up shot
of her face, she is shown clearly and is surrounded by a background, so that
she stand out more and can be seen properly, her facial features/expressions
show fear, you can tell this by the petrified look spread across her eye. It is
evident that she is quite young as her face remains relatively bare of make-up
and her hair is style in a youthful way.
6)
The tag-line “Jealousy is the grave of attention”
suggests that the attention that they crave is driven by the fact that they
feel jealousy towards that person, the word ‘grave’ could show that there will
be some sort of death during this film.
7)
It has a website, showing the audience that they
are able to access things to do with this movie, encouraging interactivity and
selling the film to their target audience, who enjoy using the internet.
8)
It offers the audience an intellectual puzzle as
they are left wondering who the reflection in the eye is and why she’s afraid
of it. The audience also experiences emotional pleasures toward the girl as she
looks young and vulnerable and is making direct eye connect to audience making
them interact with her character on a more personal level.
9)
The USP of this film poster is that there are no
film stars names plastered on the cover and the main image is solely of a young
girl when usually she would be accompanied by a male suggesting that she is a strong
person which contradicts the way she is presented on this poster.
